Chanctonbury Chorus - Come and Sing!
The Chanctonbury Chorus is a well established group of about 50 singers who enjoy getting together weekly in Steyning to rehearse a big choral masterpiece. We then give a public performance 2 or 3 times a year. The great thing is that to sing with the Chorus, you do not need current musical experience as there is no audition and members are coached as we go along. Nevertheless, the results are superb and a great part of Sussex musical life. Have a look at our website www.chanctonburychorus.org for more about the Chorus.
Singing in a choir gives you a real buzz so why not come along for a taster session? You might have sung at school but been away from singing for years; you might just have always wanted to try it; so, whether you are experienced or not, come and give it a go!
On behalf of Chanctonbury Chorus, I would like to thank all the people in Steyning who contributed to the success of our recent performance of Brahms’ Requiem in Lancing College Chapel. This includes Steyning Bookshop for acting as “Box Office”, local traders who display our posters, “Your Steyning” and not least, all those who came to the performance.
The next event will be an “Open Rehearsal” in preparation for a performance of Haydn’s creation. This will take place in Steyning Grammar School, Church Street, Steyning, BN44 3LB on Wednesday 14th September at 7.30pm. There is free parking in the Steyning Centre car park. All voices are welcome, there are no auditions so come and have a sing and meet the choir over a glass of wine.
There is no commitment so you have nothing to lose and much to enjoy - come and try! Ring Martin on 01903 260770 or Simon on 01903 745647 for more details.
