Come and ‘Swim the Channel’ at Storrington First School!

Storrington First School swimming pool will be open to all the community for a very special event in June. We want as many people to swim as many lengths as they can and raise money for our pool. If you would like to take part, first you need to decide if you would like to swim as a team or an individual - each swimming slot will be for two swimming lanes so perfect for a team of 4! Then you need to register by popping into the school or telephoning 01903 742047: at that time we’ll give you a sponsorship form and book your slot which can be for either 15 or 30 minutes depending on how much swimming you’d like to do. Slots are available during the weekday evenings between 4.30pm and 6.30pm and on the weekends between 10am and 6pm – however they are limited so make sure you book early! Whether you fancy an additional work-out to your gym routine or a thirty minute leisurely swim with friends, come along and enjoy a dip in our pool! This event is open to all members of the community. There is no charge all we ask is that community entries help us by obtaining a minimum sponsorship of £10 – for a team of 4 that’s just £2.50 each! The money raised will go towards the refurbishment of our heated outdoor pool which we are hoping to open for community use during the holidays and weekends. 2,723 lengths of our pool is the equivalent of swimming from Dover to Calais. We’re hoping for a return journey…. This event is not suitable for non-swimmers. Families welcome parents/carers to remain responsible for their childs’ care at all times. All participants will be required to pre-register and complete a health disclaimer form before swimming. Swimming hats not required. Refreshments available.
