Little Footsteps Children and Family Centre
Vital support for local families is now available at the long-awaited Little Footsteps Children and Family Centre (CFC) which opened in Storrington on the 24th August 2010.
Commissioned by West Sussex County Council and run by national children’s charity Spurgeons, the centre, in West Street, Storrington, provides information for families with young children and services like baby clinics, ante-natal care, baby massage, early parenting groups, childminding support, job centre plus, debt and benefit advice, family support & outreach and a toy library. A ‘one stop’ provision with a range of services for families and a positive environment for young children raising their life chances.
Spurgeons have supported children and their families for more than 140 years and have an enviable track record in delivering professional community-based services commissioned by local authorities.
Little Footsteps CFC is open from 9.30am – 4pm (Tuesday to Friday). Parents are able to drop into the centre and access a variety of services, obtain information or attend sessions such as sensory play drop in.
“We are very excited to be opening Little Footsteps CFC.” said Al Evans, the Centre Manager, “Our vision is to see families flourish and see young children reach their full potential. By joining together; families, staff and agencies we want to create a centre we can all be proud of.”
The Children and Family Centre will also provide office space for Splash, a local charity that runs a range of School and Community activities and services in rural West Sussex. The Storrington and Sullington Community Partnership (SSCP) will run a Community Hub Day from the premises on Mondays 2 - 4pm, when the Children and Family Centre is closed.
