Marie Curie Cancer Care: Hugh Williams Preece
As a committed and passionate supporter of Marie Curie Cancer Care, I very recently undertook and completed the mammoth challenge of running 50 marathons in 50 days to help raise money for the local Marie Curie nursing service in Sussex. For the whole story please visit my website www.hughwilliamspreece.com
As part of my continued support for the charity, I am taking part in the very popular Great Forest Run 10K taking place in September. This event is always a fantastic experience for all involved. Set in Bedgebury National Forest on the Sussex/Kent border, the run takes you through some of the 350 acres of beautiful countryside, and I for one am very much looking forward to it.
As well as the 10k, there is the 2k Family Fun Run which allows friends and families to take part and have fun, whilst still raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
I hope such an achievement may inspire more people to support this amazing charity and would like to invite your readers to join me by taking part in this amazing event.
However for those readers who are perhaps slightly more adventurous there is the once in a life time experience of the New York Marathon, or perhaps slightly closer to home, the London Marathon, and after such a successful first year, there is now also the Brighton Marathon 2011.
The amount of support I received from the charity throughout my challenge was amazing, ranging from warm messages of support from every department to expert advice on fundraising and marketing.
No matter how big the challenge, every penny you raise through sponsorship will help more Marie Curie Nurses to provide free care for terminally ill people in their own homes in Sussex.
I really hope that my efforts may serve to encourage some of your readers to put on their running shoes in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care – for more information please visit our website www.mariecurie.org.uk/events or call 0870 0340 040.
