Sandgate Conservation Society

The ‘Society have been busy lately in carrying out a bit of PR work by attending both the Sullington Church Flower Festival and the Storrington Village day.

One photo features Ken Guiver manning our display at the flower show.  Ken is our longest serving member and worked with Roy Armstrong and Peter Bazire, the original founders of the ‘Society.

The other photo shows Audrey Algar (in mauve) and Jan Dugnolle (in light blue) who were on ‘duty’ at the ‘Village Day. Audrey is our new Chairperson/man/lady who has taken over from Geoffrey Moore.

The object of the exercise was ‘drum up’ more members as the  ‘Society is always looking to increase numbers, not only help in the actual conservation work itself but also in preserving local areas of land from inappropriate building etc.

By appealing against such plans with the appropriate authorities we can make a difference and this is where the numbers count.
