St Mary’s First School Fundraiser - a Great Success

On Friday 26th February St Mary’s First School held a Little Black Dress fundraising event. It was a huge success and we sold out of tickets on the night. The main sponsor of the event was Debenhams, Brighton and it was Sakib Khan, Personal Shopper from Debenhams who showed us the latest fashions from the Designers at Debenhams ranges using mums from the school as models!

Two Lancome beauty consultants were on hand to offer make up advise and they provided us with goody bags to give to each lady to take home at the end of the evening.

We also had stalls from local businesses including the organic chocolate company Cocoa Loco based in Partridge Green, Cameleon Earth a fairtrade handbag company and Truly Scrumptious Sussex, hand made homewares. We were given some great prizes including a £250 hamper of Lancome goodies, a four day holiday break in Croatia and haircuts from Trevor Sorbie in Brighton and Toni n Guy in Worthing.

We do not have a final figure but we expect to raise close to £1,000 for the school. The money will be used to enhance the curriculum for the children through trips out and speakers being brought into school. It will also be used to maintain our swimming pool which the children love.
