Storrington Bowling Club

The bowls season is progressing well. The ladies and men’s league teams are holding their own in the second and first divisions respectively, county and representative matches have been played on our green. Club competitions have now reached the finals weekend which is on 3rd and 4th September. Visitors are most welcome at the finals which will start at 10am and 2pm on both days.

On 15th July, the Club held a celebration fun afternoon followed by a Barbecue to mark our 90th year as a bowling club. The following Sunday, 20 teams from clubs across the county took part in the invitation triples competition. Breakfasts, lunches and teas were organized by the Club together with raffles and, above all, a great day of bowls.

Open Morning 10am to 12noon: Tuesday 13th September
We are always delighted to welcome new members. Hence on 13th September Storrington Bowling Club is holding an open morning. Everyone is most welcome: inexperienced, experienced, young or old. Just come along and meet some of our members and try bowling on the green. We have a number of qualified coaches who will be on hand to assist.

New bowlers who join the Club have a short induction including at least four hours individual tuition by a qualified coach. Membership is good value for money: members can have a “roll up” free of charge on any day of the week. The season runs from the middle of April to the end of September. Those who start bowling in September will only pay the small joining fee and will not need to pay for membership until next year.

“There are no strangers at this club: only friends you have yet to meet” So, do come along!
