Storrington & District Museum
January’s weather has, unfortunately, completely upset current plans to refurbish Storrington Museum. The timetable has had to be totally rescheduled, so therefore it has been decided to delay the reopening of the Museum until May 9th, to coincide with the celebration of the Museum’s 10th Anniversary. More details of the grand reopening will be available next month. Old and new volunteers are all working extremely hard to deliver the exciting new image.
People in Storrington and the surrounding villages are also being asked to help revitalise the displays, to get involved and to add to the vital collection of the heritage of this area of the South Downs.
The museum is hoping to expand existing exhibitions and develop new ones. Areas of interest include the following :- WW11, farming/downland crafts, culture and artists, local people, buildings, old memories and anecdotes, changes in land usage, objects and artifacts relating to the district’s heritage.
Your involvement will ensure that future exhibitions are relevant and of ongoing interest to all local people, young and old. If you are willing to suggest ideas, provide objects, memories and information for consideration then please contact:- Storrington Museum: Tel: 01903 741088 email: chair@storringtonmuseum.org
