Update from Storrington & District Museum

In many ways, 2009 has been an interesting year for the Museum and village of Storrington.  For the last four months the Trustees of the Museum have been meeting to prepare the background for an ambitious, but we think perfectly achievable, Heritage Lottery Bid that will enable the Museum to grow and develop over the next ten years and beyond.

The meetings have brought to our attention a number of things that we need to address in terms of legal, financial, health and safety as well as good museum practice.  The scope of the changes are such that we could not, in all honesty, tackle them and keep the museum open.

Therefore with some regret, but also realistic awareness, the Trustees decided to close the Museum for the winter months to address these issues.  The Museum will reopen on Thursday, 1st April, with an Eggstravaganza, Further details in the next issue.
