Washington Arts Festival 2010

Following the enormous success of the 1st Washington Arts Festival we are doing it all over again! So make a note of the dates: Friday June 18th Saturday June 19th and Sunday June 20th

We had such an amazing Art Exhibition in 2008 and so, again, the walls of Church House Barn will be hung with work from both local and international artists

A concert will take place in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday 19th at 7.00 pm, and we are delighted to announce that a very well respected London wind quintet called W5 will be playing for us. Further details to follow.

A new treat this year, the Old Vicarage garden will be open as part of the National Garden Scheme on the Friday and Saturday, the proceeds of which go to charity. This will be a chance to wander around a beautiful garden that has been dramatically redesigned.

The Scarecrows, well, after the last Scarecrow competition, what can we say, they were absolutely fantastic! Do have a look on the Washington Village website www.washingtonvillage.org and see the 2008 entries. The idea is to decorate the village with as many scarecrows as possible, in all shapes, sizes and styles, and attach an appropriate witty slogan. A prize is given for the best entry and everyone can take part in the judging.

Cream teas will be available in Church House Barn. So, after walking round the Old Vicarage garden, or the village enjoying the scarecrows, come and enjoy our scrumptious homemade cakes while you have a chance to relax and admire the artwork and garden sculpture.

Money raised is used for village projects. We have provided a disabled access into the village Memorial Hall and made a donation to the Church Organ Fund.
